An extraordinary Decision made by the Jammu and Kashmir Government for law expressly prohibiting sexual misuse of lady by those in places of power, having a guardian relationship or by an open servant.
The State Administrative Council (SAC) headed by Governor Satya Pal Malik endorsed the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Bill, 2018, and the Jammu and Kashmir Criminal Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2018.
The Bill tries to correct the state Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) whereby explicit offense under Section 354E is being embedded to accommodate the offense of ‘Sextortion’.
Revisions are being made in Sections 154, 161 and Schedule of Criminal Procedure Code and Section 53A of the Evidence Act to bring sextortion at standard with comparative offenses endorsed under the RPC.
Alteration is being made in Prevention of Corruption Act to correct the meaning of offense and to give that request to sexual favors would likewise establish crime inside the significance of Section 5, an official proclamation said.
