Bollywood actors acting in their own production houses is common. Shahrukh, Akshay, Ajay Devgun and a host of others do this. Even in Tollywood, this trend has begun. Heroes like Chiru and Nag work in their own banners – Geetha Arts and Annapoorna studios respectively.
Even Nithin is following the same trend. Three of the four of his last movies were from his own production house and he is now producing Akkeneni Akhil’s debut movie. Other young heroes like Kalyan Ram, Ram, Nani and Prabhas too are into production directly or indirectly. Latest to join this league is none other than Super Star Mahesh Babu.
He is the co-producer of his upcoming movies Srimanthudu and Brahmotsavam.
His banner is titled as ‘Mahesh Babu Entertainents’. In fact, one of his earlier movies Arjun was produced by his brother Ramesh Babu. His brother is also the producer of Mahesh’s previous flicks like Dookudu, Nenokkadine etc.So why are our heroes acting in their own banners? Are they not satisfied with other producers? Or Are the producers not ready to take the risk of producing heavy budget movies with big stars?
