Film actor, producer turned politician Bandla Ganesh was arrested on Wednesday evening by the Banjara Hills police and handed over to the Andhra Pradesh police. The producer had been booked for cheating a businessman. However, as he failed to appear before the court in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, the court issued a non-bailable warrant against him. According to police, Ganesh cheated a businessman, Mahesh from Kadapa, over Rs 10 lakh. Ganesh gave Mahesh a cheque of Rs 10 lakh a few months ago, which was bounced following which the latter filed a complaint against him.
Ganesh is also involved in cheating Potluri V Prasad(PVP) who is also a producer. According to PVP, Ganesh owes him Rs 7 crore. Ganesh had borrowed Rs 34 crore from Prasad to make Temper, which was released in 2015. Though he paid the actual amount, he has been accused of not paying the interest amount. PVP recently filed a case against him in Jubilee Hills police station.
Earlier, the writer of Temper had accused Ganesh of cheating him by not paying his remuneration of Rs 26 lakh. In this case, Ganesh gave a cheque to the writer which got bounced. To which, the Erramanzil court gave six months of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 15 lakhs for failing to pay the full remuneration.
