Saif Ali Khan finds the scrutiny surrounding the personal life of actresses strange and believes it can impact their careers negatively.

“People often ask single actresses when they are getting married. I heard that with Kareena a lot and now I am going through the same with Katrina (Kaif) in press conferences. It’s dangerous because when you are working in Bollywood sometimes it can impact your career negatively,” Saif told PTI in an interview.

Saif, 45, feels such is the focus on their private life that sometimes not enough importance is given to the career achievements of the heroines.

“Marriage and other things happen at the right time. I just find it a strange mindset that people want to know about their marriage date and if they are married then about their baby plans. It seems nobody is happy with them being professional and talking about their work.”

The actor will be next seen in Kabir Khan’s anti- terrorism thriller “Phantom” opposite Katrina. The film, set in the aftermath of 26/11 Mumbai attacks, hits theatres today.

It is already banned in Pakistan and has generated a lot of controversy there with Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed filing a petition against the film in a court there.

Saif, whose “Agent Vinod” faced a similar fate in the neighbouring country, says it is a “shame” to ban the film.
