Tamil actor Karthi does have a huge fan following in the Telugu film audience and fans as well. His latest movie Khaidi will be released on the occasion of Diwali. He shared his experience with change in digital technology. He said that there has been a huge change to how the audience view the movies these days. Due to Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, the audience are watching movies in the app itself. Although he said his mindset changed that movies are being watched digitally only in Urban areas, when he visited the village to shoot for his latest film Khaidi. He said, when he was in the village, some of the villagers asked him whether he watch “Money Heist”. Karthi seems to have shocked by how much the digital world has changed.
His movie Khaidi does not have songs or romantic scenes, when asked about the same, he said, “It is a screenplay that unfolds over the space of four hours. When you watch a film like Speed or Die Hard, where is the time for songs? If a story spans two or three years, it is understandable because time stands for human emotion, no? Theeran (his 2017 film) was a dark film. You needed something to compensate, some lighter moments. Otherwise, it would have been a grim film. But Khaidi has no need for it. It is not only an action film. Despite the tension, there are lighter moments that you can really enjoy.”
In Khaidi, Karthi plays Dilli, a prisoner who walks out after serving a 10-year term, and is trying to make contact with his 10-year-old daughter, whom he has not seen before. It is not the first time in his career that Karthi has played the father to a young daughter . However, since he became a father in 2013, the actor finds it easy to relate to these emotions.
