Senior actress Geetanjali Ramakrishna passes away, Film Industry pays condolences

Senior actress Geetanjali Ramakrishna featured in over 500 films across multiple languages like Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi. Senior NTR (Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao) introduced her to the silver screen with his self-directorial Seetharama Kalyanam in 1961. Some of Geetanjali’s noted films include Seetharama Kalyanam, Dr Chakravarthy, Letha Manasulu, Bobbili Yuddham, Devatha, Letha Manasulu, Gudachari 116 and Sambarala Rambabu.

Veteran Heroine Geetanjali passed away on Thursday due to cardiac arrest. While undergoing treatment, she breathed her last at a private hospital near Film Nagar in Hyderabad. She achieved a lot in her career at an early age and was also a member of the Nandi Award committee. The veteran actress has also worked with her husband actor Rama Krishna in a few films before they got married to each other.

AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Movie Artists Association (MAA) President Naresh, and several other personalities pay condolences. In his condolence message, the Chief Minister Jagan said that the veteran actress had left an indelible mark in the Telugu film industry. She also proved her mettle in films across other languages, he said . He conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family members of the actress.
