Those were days when movies had pure Telugu names like ‘Pandanti Kapuram’, ‘Gundamma Katha’ and ‘Jagadeka Veerudu’.
But later they were left and industry ran behind short titles like ‘Okkadu’, ‘Jalsa’, ‘Racha’, ‘Parugu’, ’Dookudu’, ‘Darling’, ‘Temper’ etc. In between there were titles like ‘Pokiri’, ‘Deshamuduru’, ‘Kedi’ and ‘Neninthe’. But from the past 2 years the makers of our films have gone back in time and are giving soft names to their films.
Now, these soft titled films are becoming big hits. Mahesh first named his film as ‘Seetamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’ which was a big hit and now his recent movie ‘Srimanthudu’ is breaking many records and became the second biggest hit in Telugu Industry. Even the previous industry hit was soft-titled ‘Attarintiki Daaredi’. Many film personalities are following this trend and are naming their films with soft titles like ‘Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu’, Ye Maya Chesave’, Bhale Bhale Mogadivoyi’.
This change is welcomed by everyone and one is hoping that it would continue for a long time.
