Young talented director Nag Ashwin will soon start his most ambitious project ‘Mahanati’, biopic of yesteryear actress Savitri. This going to be second project to Ashwin, as his debut film was Yevade Subrahmanyam in which Nani and Vijay Deverakonda starred.
Keerthy Suresh will reprise Savitri in the film which will have actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu playing an important role.
According to reports, Samantha will play the role of a journalist in the film. Actor Dulquar Salman has roped for the role of Savitri’s husband Gemini Ganeshan.

Now, Pelli Choopulu fame Vijay Deverakonda who also starred in Nag Ashwin’s Yevade Subrahmanyam is finalised to play love interest of Samantha. Samantha is busy with 2-3 movies shooting. However, an official announcement is yet to have on these reports.
