Clay Ganesh idols to save the environment

Ganesha Chaturthi is the Hindu festival celebrated on the birthday (rebirth) of Lord Ganesha, the son of Shiva and Parvati. Chaturthi was being celebrated as a public event in our country .  the culture of celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi by arranging pandals and mandaps has caught pace. The number of Ganesh pandals likely to be installed has increased to 1,200 this year in our telugu states .
Despite  requests by the environmentalists not to go for PoP idols,  festival committees have been found to be investing huge sums of money on the same as it would appear more attractive than the clay idols. It’s not simply NGOs and corporate workplaces which lead the pack in holding clay-moulding workshops, a city shopping center, a library and a club too join the fleeting trend to spread the green message.
It was a thrilling learning knowledge for 120 students who touched base from different government schools situated in Bheemunipatnam and Annavaram. A student of eleven-year-old Dhanaraju said that it was the first time that he tried to give shape to large ears and long trunk of an imaginary Lord Ganesh at the workshop organised by the Divis Laboratories Limited along with Mandal Praja Parishad, Bheemunipatnam, on Thursday.
The individuals who went by Chitralaya Mall on Thursday left with an clay symbol. The thought is to do our bit to get green environment. We gave away 500 icons to the individuals who entered the shopping center. The staff individuals too ran home with an eco-friendly icon,” said G.K. Mangaraj, overseeing executive of the shopping center.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police K. Mahendra Patrudu went to as chief guest and gave away Ganesh icons to the staff of the shopping center. With Lord Ganesh as the topic, JustBooks comunity library chain at Lawson’s Bay Colony is facilitating a story narrating workshop took after by a clay making workshop on Saturday at 5 p.m.
Chelikani Atchuta Rao Trust, a NGO, and Lendi Institute of Engineering and Technology in Vizianagaram circulated more than 3,000 dirt icons on the event. And many more places in Andhra pradesh have distributed Clay symbols of ganesa to general people . Protecting mother earth is our responsibility and using clay Ganesha was our age old tradition. Everyone should arrange clay idols to stop pollution .
