The age old song rings once again Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting here in New Delhi. Members of CWC have unanimously urged party Vice President Rahul Gandhi to take over as All India Congress Committee (AICC) Chief at a meeting of the party’s highest decision-making body.
Majority of members have expressed strong sentiments that Rahul Gandhi must take over the headship of the party, Congress senior leader A.K. Antony told reporters. The former Union Minister further added that it is high time that Congress must mobilize all its forces to fight against the dictatorial rule of Narendra Modi government. Antony also said that it was for the first time that the sentiment was strongly and unanimously expressed in the CWC meeting. “Final decision has to be that of the party President,” he added. Congress President Sonia Gandhi was not present at the meeting due to illness. Rahul Gandhi was present in CWC meeting as Vice President of the party. Rahul Gandhi said he wants to fight for idea of India and whatever party workers decide he will be ready to take up that role.
