An IIT-Kanpur student has surprised by getting a job in Microsoft with the offer of Rs1.5 crore per annum. This is the highest ever salary offer to a student of IIT-K, according to sources at the premier institute.
The Delhi-based student has been offered a position at Microsoft’s headquarters in Redmond to design software, implement it and fix the bugs. The IITian will get Rs 94 lakh as base pay and additional pay for relocation, medical and visa charges and stock ownership options. The total package is taking into account annual bonus and joining bonus, works out to nearly Rs1.5 crore. Last year, the highest base pay offered to a student at IIT-K was Rs 93 lakh.
