It is interesting how the events turn in Tamil Nadu politics. Already facing corruption charges in disproportionate case, it is ironic that Sasikala Natarajan, who has no formal political experience, is dictating terms in AIADMK after demise of J Jayalalithaa.
O Panneerselvam, once a tea vendor and trusted lieutenant of Amma, who is considered as Mr. clean in AIADMK is sidelined by the core leadership of AIADMK. Now he is alone and soon will be expelled from the party by Sasikala.
AIADMK chief secretary Sasikala Natarajan on Wednesday regretted that Panneerselvam had changed his word within 48 hours after tendering his resignation to CM post. Speaking to media persons in Chennai, Sasikala caretaker of J Jayalalithaa said that the her opponents are after the AIADMK and spearheeading whatever is happening today. She said that nothing can the AIADMK from following Amma’s path.
Stating that it became her responsibility to put an end to the wrongdoings of Panneerselvam as general secretary. After Amma’s demise, the supporters asked her to take the responsibility, it took longtime to take a decision because she claimed that she was in mourning.
“I could sense the acts of CM Panneerselvam who completely connived with the opposition,” she told the reporters. On the day Panneerselvam revolted against the demand for Sasikala to assume charge as CM, Tuesday night, Sasikala said that OPS would certainly be expelled from the party for sure as she further maintained that the party united as one family.
