If a report doing the rounds is anything to go by, Telugu Desam Party would soon get a major blow in Andhra Pradesh.
A key TDP leader and Rajya Sabha member from Seemandha, who is considered as Chandrababu’s man Friday and was one of the main fund-raisers of TDP, is all set to bid adieu to the party to join the YSRCP.
He played a key role in the party prior to the last general elections. The Rajya Sabha member is said to be Chandrababu’s 5-man army and he also engineered defections of Zilla Parishad and Mandal Parishad members and even Nandyal MP SPY Reddy into the TDP fold. He is also said to have convinced Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan to campaign in support of the TDP.
He reportedly unhappy over not getting a notable post and has been not participating actively in the party activities ever since he was not recommended for the union cabinet post.
Interestingly, he is one of the main arch rivals of YS Jagan and used to split venom on the YSRCP during the debates on Television channels.
He reportedly held a meeting with his supporters and informed about his decision.
Even, YS Jagan is learnt to have given the TDP leader the green signal to join the party. But his move seems to have got delayed due to a standoff over the position he will be offered.
However, sources close to the TDP denied that their leader was switching parties and said that reports of him joining YSRCP were baseless.
