A noteworthy hit to the TDP in Andhra Pradesh, previous Hindupur MLA Abdul Ghani quit the TDP Party and joined YSR Congress Party in nearness of the gathering Chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy. This could mark the Yellow Party’s fortunes in Hindupur. Ghani is a nearby compatriot of Nandamuri Balakrishna, the current Hindupur MLA. It is trusted that Ghani, who was Hindupur MLA from 2009-2014, was persuaded by TDP Chief to surrender the seat for Balakrishna.

Former Hindupur MLA Abdul Ghani said that he will challenge against Balakrishna from a similar seat and communicated his trust in winning since he is considered as a localite in the voting public, dissimilar to Balakrishna who is a non-localite! Subsequently, this is viewed as a move that could hurt TDP’s odds in the voting public.

Hindupur has been a conventional fortress of the Telugu Desam Party and hosts been held by the gathering since1985. Regardless of TDP losing in 1989, Hindupur was a seat that was as yet held by the TDP. The Founder of TDP, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, was chosen from Hindupur in Anantapur area in 1985, 1989 and 1994. Then, his child Nandamuri Harikrishna was chosen in the by-elections from a similar seat in 1996 after NTR’s passing.

With a half year to go for race in Andhra Pradesh, this could be an immense shock to the TDP, say political eyewitnesses. There are gossipy tidbits that even Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan has been reflecting about giving an intense battle to the TDP from this constituency in spite of it not being concluded . In the near future, we will observer a few progressively cross-party surrenders, say political spectators, who include this is a significant typical situation before assembly elections .
