Ever since he took over reins of power, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been forging ahead to give a clean and corruption-free government to the people of Andhra Pradesh. He has cracked down on the coteries and mafias that have been looting the state. But, some officials, who were entrusted with the key responsibility of nailing the corrupt mandarins have not been working to YS Jagan’s satisfaction. Hence, Jagan has recently brought in no-nonsense officer PSR Anjaneyulu as the chief of the ACB by replacing incumbent Kumar Vishwajit.
Anjaneyulu is known to be a tough task master and a relentless crusader. As Transport Commissioner, he has leashed in errant private vehicle operators. He ensured that they fall in line and comply with the rules. He took on the might of JC Diwakar Reddy and other private transporters. He has also managed to make the likes of former speaker Kodela Sivaprasad’s son to cough up penalties.
Now, soon after taking over, this upright officer has begun a massive drive to nail the corrupt. He has launched raids against the corrupt officials in all the 13 districts of the state. During the last four days, several raids were conducted and huge amounts of unaccounted money were recovered. These tough and determined actions are sending shivers down the spine of the corrupt officials who have become habituated to take briges right left and centre. PSR is striking terror at the heart of the corrupt officials. Kudos to a fearless officer out on the prowl to eliminate corruption.
