VP Venkaiah at Tirupathi to offer prayers

VP elected candiate M Venkaiah Naidu today offered prayers at the well known hill place of worship of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala close Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. Mr Naidu touched base in Tirupati with his relatives the previous evening and remained at a vigorously protected Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) visitor house on the slopes.

On his landing in the temple, he was concurred a warm welcome and led to the sanctum sanctorum of the altar by TTD Executive Officer AK Singhal and other best authorities. He was in the place of worship for around 20 minutes, temple sources told news angency PTI. Subsequent to asking at the Sri Ranganayaka Mandapam, the Vice President candiate was honoured with the holy silk fabric and holy prasadams by the administration of the shrine.

Later, addressing journalists, Mr Naidu stated, “I have turned into the Vice President in view of the adoration for the general population of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and most important all the blessings of Lord Venkateswara…to whom I have been offering worship since I was 13.

Subsequent to getting elected to the august post, I should be absolutely independent to keep up the pride and propriety of the institution and do my responsibilities according to the constitution,” he said. I am going to start my new chapter in my life as the Vice President of India, which is totally apolitical,” he included.

Mr Naidu said it is the magnificence of democracy that being the son of a farmer, he has ascended to the best post of the nation. He Later participated in a function at the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences in Tirupati.

NDA candiate and former Union minister venkaiah naidu was clected as 13th vice president of india after his opponent Gopalkrishna Gandhi in Vice-presidential election which was held on saturday . Venkaiah Naidu got 516 votes , while Gopalkrishna Gandhi had recieved 244 votes.
