AP Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy Government distributing money to Agri Gold victims on November 7

Chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy is scheduled to visit Guntur as YSRCP government is making arrangements for distribution of money to victims of the Agri Gold company on November 7. Online payments would be made to 3.99 lakh depositors. The district administration is making arrangements for the event. Ministers, legislators and officials have inspected the venue Brahmananda Reddy stadium for the event.

Home minister Mekathoti Sucharitha said “Jagan has started the process of paying back depositors money just five months after he took over as chief minister. The previous government did not do anything. The chief minister is paying back the depositors in just five months,” she said.

The previous TDP government did not pay even a single penny to the depositors who have been fighting for justice for the past five years,” said Lella Appi Reddy, chairman of Agri Gold depositors’ welfare committee.

State government which stood by its word to rescue investors by sanctioning ₹1,150 crore in just two days. An amount of Rs 886 crore was released by the YSRCP government on Saturday for disbursal to victims of the AgriGold scam is expected to help those who deposited up to Rs 20,000 in the company. Several cases were registered in police stations across Andhra, and investigation into the scam was later taken up by the Crime Investigation Department (CID), which revealed that the accused companies collected deposits amounting to Rs.6,380 crore from 32 lakh depositors from all over the country.
