The due date to connect the Aadhaar number with mobile number , bank accounts has been stretched out by three months till March 31, the centre has reported that on Wednesday, as the Supreme Court is set to initiate got notification from Thursday on its compulsory connecting to different plans.
The due date was before December 31 for connecting the 12-digit unique ID number with both Permanent Account Number (PAN) and financial balances. Nonetheless, the government broadened the due date a week ago to link it with PAN till March 31.
A warning to connect it with financial balances was later issued on Tuesday by the Department of Revenue under the Finance Ministry. The warning, notwithstanding, did not say the new due date, abandoning it open-finished.
The government later issued a public statement which contained the due date of March 31. As indicated by the December 12 notice, the words “present the Aadhaar number and PAN by December 31, 2017” have been substituted by “present the Aadhaar number, PAN or Form No 60 by such date as might be informed by the Central government .
The discharge said under the arrangements of Prevention of Money-laundering (Maintenance of Records) Second Amendment Rules, 2017, it was given that if a customer as of now having a financial balance or some other record based association with revealing elements before date of this notice neglects to present the Aadhaar number and PAN by December 31, the said account might stop to be operational till the time the Aadhaar number and PAN is put together by the customer .
