Recent some days back Telugu film industry as shaked under a drug scandal after officials of Telangana Excise (Enforcement) Department busted a major drug racket . 12 persons, including actors and directors, from the Telugu film industry (popularly known as Tollywood), to be summoned by the SIT in connection with the drugs racket busted .
The excise department had also issued notices to several pubs and bars in connection with the probe. Apart from the Tollywood personalities, the SIT questioned several others as well. The SIT has questioned filmmaker Puri Jagannadh, cinematographer Shyam K Naidu, actors P Subba Raju, Tarun Kumar, P Navdeep, Ravi Teja and Tanish Alladi, actresses Charmi Kaur and Mumaith Khan, art director Dharma Rao alias Chinna, and Srinivasa Rao, who had earlier worked as Teja’s driver.
The questioning of celebrities began on July 19 and ended on July 27. The officials are also collected the samples of hair, blood and nail for the purpose of forensic examination from these celebrities.
In a continued effort to investigate the Hyderabad drug racket, officials from the Excise department Director Akun Sabharwal addressed media about the progressing examination of the drugs racket case.
He cleared that there is no reality in the buzz that examination has been going at a snail pace. ‘We have been directing attacks and arrests were made persistently. If necessary, We won’t hesitate to serve notification to Film Celebs once more.
Our officials are working at the ground level. We have been pushing forward examining all the data assembled up until this point. At present, We are focussing on recording a charge sheet identified with the Drug Scandal headed by Kelvin. We are truly sure that Accused will gets punished ,’ he told.
