Telangana Chief Minister KCR asks officials to prepare for Municipal polls

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has instructed the officials to get prepared for conducting Municipal elections as and when the State Election Commission decides the date. Chief Minister held a review meeting on Wednesday after the High Court green signal to conduct the Municipal Elections in the State. Municipal Minister KT Rama Rao, Principal Secretaries Arvind Kumar, Government Chief Advisor Rajiv Sharma and others attended the meeting.

CM KCR said that the Government is prepared to conduct the Municipal elections in the state. He instructed the officials to make necessary arrangements for the conduct of elections. However, Huzurnagar bypoll results, TRS party won the Huzurnagar Assembly constituency bypoll with majority of over 43,624 votes over its rival Congress and establishing the pink flag in the otherwise Congress stronghold, on Thursday.

TRS candidate Sanampudi Saidi Reddy in a majority won against nearest rival Uttam Kumar Reddy’s wife Padmavathi Reddy of the opposition Congress party with the results declared in the afternoon. TRS Saidi Reddy polled 89,457 votes. While the Congress Party Uttam Kumar Reddy’s wife Padmavathi Reddy won 55, 227 votes. The BJP’s candidate Rama Rao polled 1779 votes and the TDP’s candidate Kiranmai barely managed 1440 votes, putting an end to the TDP’s attempt to revive themselves in the Telangana region.
