Telangana Govt Arrange to Book Tickets from T-Govt’s Portal

Telangana government on Saturday propelled a web based ticketing portal(https://tsboxoffice.in), a single window stage for all silver screen halls and internet ticketing sites. The portal was launched by minister for cinematography Talasani Srinivas Yadav, at the Secretariat. Talasani Srinivas Yadav said that this portal launched by the Telangana government, was the first of its kind in the nation. The portal that will be controlled by Telangana Film Development Corporation Ltd, will guarantee straightforwardness in the offer of tickets and tax collection.

The online enlistment for theaters and multiplexes began on Saturday. The government encouraged all the entertainment halls to enroll rapidly to begin operations.Government ordered all the Cinema Halls to register with this online booking portal quickly to kickstart their operations. Online registration process begins on Saturday. The plan is to make registrations compulsory for all the single screens and multiplexes in the state anytime soon. Tickets will be allowed to sell online through this portal to maintain transparency. Presently however, joining the portal is optional, yet as per sources, the Telangana government will soon make enrollments compulsory for all theaters and multiplexes. The Telangana government needs all theaters to offer tickets just through this online portal and quit issuing manual tickets through ticket counters.

At present , the private web based ticketing offices collect an expense of Rs 10 for each ticket, which is shared in the proportion of 50:50 amongst organizations and exhibitors. The Telangana government needs to gather Rs 6 as expense for every ticket, of which Rs 2 will go for TSFDC and Rs 4 to the exhibitors. There were complaints of expansive scale avoidance of entertainment tax prior, which will now be checked with this portal.
