After her silver-medal winning performance at the Rio Olympics, PV Sindhu will receive a grand welcome in her home city when she returns to Hyderabad on Monday. The 21-year-old will be felicitated at an event in Gacchibowli stadium after she arrives from Rio tomorrow.
P.V. Sindhu won India’s first-ever silver medal in badminton at the Olympics on Friday, and was elated after winning India’s second medal in the competition. Telangana government has is all set to receive a grand welcome when P.V.Sindhu and her coach Gopichand reach the city on Monday.
The City Municipal Corporation has planned a felicitation ceremony for the shuttler on Monday at the Gachibowli stadium, which is expected to be attended by more than 5,000 people. Sindhu will also be welcomed by school children and citizens at various points from the airport to the stadium.
