The government of Telangana plans to launchTelugu film awards for which a new committee will be constituted. The TS government has taken measures to present its own awards for Telugu films every year. In the undivided A.P. film awards have been presented every year on Ugadhi but after bifurcation awards were stopped.
Now TS government has constituted a committee to recommend a proper name for the film awards in addition to the finalisation of the moralities for selection. Telugu studios are at present localised in Hyderabad. The minister for cenimatography Mr. Thalasani Srinivasa Yadav has stated that the film awards will be presented covering for the entire Telugu film industry.
It is reported names of film awards may be “Kakathiya” or “Yadhadhri”. Mr. Yadav has further states that if A.P government gives “Nandhi” awards, they have no objection. The TS government gives the awards on its own accord.
