UGC has found only three colleges in Telangana state are at potentiality.

In the list of UGC only three colleges have potential experience. Vard human college of engineering Shamsha badh, VNR Vijnana college of Bashupalli and Chaitanya degree college in Warangal have their place in the list. Most of the colleges in Telangana are very weak.

UGC will be granting CPE and UPE status to colleges and Universities with excellent track records every year. Agricultural, medical, dental, nursing and pharmacy are ineligible for the scheme. Sixty colleges have applied from both Telangana and Andhra pradesh for alite CPE status. . 124 colleges from different states are chosen for financial assistance i.e. 1.5 crores in the next five years from the UGC.
