Same Same! TDP, TMC indulge in fight over a room

We have seen MPs were fighting in Parliament over many issues but on Tuesday there was another case of politicians misbehaving in Parliament.

According to reports, war of words broke out between Telugu Desam Party and Trinamool Congress MPs in the halls of Parliament after some of the TDP MPs refused to vacate an office allotted to the Trinamool Congress.

Angered over this, the TMC MPs forcibly took the procession of the office and 

TMC MPs took the possession of the office forcibly and also removed the TDP board outside the room.  

The fight has not stopped at it. Challenging the TMC MPS, the TDP MPs removed the board and put up their board again. They made them clear that they will not vacate the room.

Speaking on the incident, on the TMC MPs said “We have 46 MPs but we didn’t have any place to sit. TDP has only 22 MPS and they were provided a room on the third floor.”

In yet another blow to YSRCP, party leader and officials spokesperson Ambati Rambabu is all set to quit the party on the line of Jupudi Prabhakar.

According to reliable sources, Ambati is said to be disappointed with the recent developments in the party. 

 It is being said that Amabati had a closed-door meeting with his supporters where he asked their opinion.

He is likely to Bid adieu to the party in the third week of August. 

Analysts feel that Ambati’s resignation would be a major set back to YSRCP as he was one of the main spokespersons and he has the capabilities to hit back at opponents easily.

Shruti Haasan to romance with Mahesh Babu

Actress Shruti Haasan, daughter of actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan, will be teaming up with superstar Mahesh Babu in his next as yet-untitled Telugu film.

The project was officially launched in Hyderabad on Monday. “Shruti Haasan is finalised as Mahesh Babu’s pair in the film, which was officially launched with a puja this morning.

Regular shooting is expected to start from September and will be completed in one long schedule,” a source from the film’s unit said. To be directed by Koratala Siva, the film will also feature Rajendra Prasad, Jagapathi Babu, Sampath Raj and Brahmanadam in important roles.

Shruti, who recently shook a leg with Mahesh for an item number in upcoming Telugu actioner “Aagadu”, will play his lead for the first time. She is currently busy shooting for Tamil film “Poojai” with Vishal Krishna.

Fishy revenge has snake gasping for life in West Godavari

A snake had met its match. Hungry, the snake managed to catch a fish. Happy at the heavy brunch, it pushed the mouthful fish. 

 

But, its happiness was short-lived. The fish had its revenge at its nemesis when one of its sharp bones got stuck in the soft oral cavity. With in a moment, the feast turned into an unending torment with fish stuck in the mouth and the snake unable to either gulp down or throw out.

The snake, writhing in pain, tried to wriggle out of the sticky situation, but to no avail. After hours of effort, resigned to its fate, the snake slithered into the bushes with its death stuck in its mouth. 

For the people of Tanuku in West Godavari, this painful ordeal of the snake was a source of unending entertainment and they watched this gladiatorial spectacle with amusement. 

kidney racket busted two women among five held

The city police today claimed to have busted a kidney sale racket and arrested five people, including two women in this connection.

The five accused have been identified as Miriyala Kranthi Durga Prasad, Bondili Prudhvi Raju, Malladi Naga Sai Durga, Godavarthi Uma Devi (all from Vijayawada) and Bondili Balaji Singh from Jangareddygudem of West Godavari district, Assistant Commissioner of Vijayawada, G Ramakrishna, told reporters here.

Revealing the case history, the official said, A man named Srinivasa Rao had been admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad for kidney treatment. The kingpin of the racket Sai Kumar approached Rao and said they can arrange for a kidney from a donor at Rs 2 lakh.

When the patient agreed, Sai asked his agent Bondili Balaji Singh to look for a donor. Balaji then contacted his cousin Bondili Prudhvi Raju, through whom, he approached Miryala Kranthi Durga Prasad and offered some money for donating his kidney.

They also convinced Malladi Naga Sai Durga to act as Prasad’s wife, Ramakrishna added. As per the rules, the kidney donor has to file an affidavit saying he knows the recipient. It has to be supported by the donor’s kin, who files another affidavit saying the family has no objection to the procedure. The recipient then must secure a clearance from the authorities.

Naga Sai Durga acted as the wife of the donor Prasad. They filed an affidavit before the hospital using fake signatures of the Vijayawada tehsildar as well as his official seal. However, when the hospital sent the papers to the tehashildar office for verification, it was found that the documents had been forged, following which a police complaint was lodged, he said.

After investigating the case, Satyanarayanapuram police arrested the five accused, including the rubber stamp manufacturer, Uma Devi, who made fake rubber stamps of tehshildar. Police are now looking for the main accused Sai Kumar and further probe is on. 

Karti hospitalised due to food poisoning

Tamil film star and actor Suriya’s brother Karthi has been hospitalized due to food poisoning.

According to reports, he went to a party with his family members on Monday and immediately after partaking the meals, he felt uneasy and had to be rushed to the hospital.

After a couple of tests and some fluid infusion, Karthi was discharged from the hospital.

His fans and well wishers became worried over Karti’s health.  Sources say that Karthi is doing fine and all set for the next schedule of the shooting. 

Karthi is busy shooting for his upcoming flick ‘Komban’ with Lakshmi Menon.

 

 

 

Medak bus tragedy: Toll rises to 18

The toll in last week’s accident at an unmanned rail-road crossing in Telangana rose to 18 with one more child dead at a hospital here Tuesday.

Doctors at the Yashoda Hospital declared 11-year-old Vaishnavi dead. This took the toll of children in the accident, caused by the negligence of the school bus driver, to 16 and overall deaths, including those of the driver and helper, to 18.

Seven-year-old Tarun died in the same hospital Monday. Doctors said the condition of two other children remains critical. Two more children are under observation while 14 others are stable.

Though the hospital authorities have discharged seven children, their parents have refused to take them back home citing lack of proper medical facilities in their villages.

Fourteen children were killed when the Nanded-Secunderabad passenger train rammed into their school bus at an unmanned rail-road crossing at Masayipet in Medak district, about 70 km from here, July 24.

The accident occurred when the bus was carrying the children to their school at Toopran and the driver did not stop the vehicle short of the level crossing to check for any approaching train.

 

 

 

Ensure safe return of stranded Telugus from Libya

Leader of the opposition and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has requested the Union Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj to initiate immediate measures to ensure the safe return of Indian nationals.

In a letter sent to Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday, YS Jagan told her that 1000 Telugu people, who hail from both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states, are stranded in the Libya and have no way of coming out of the strife-torn country. Leader of the opposition and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has requested the Minister of External  Affairs  Sushma Swaraj  to initiate immediate measures to ensure the safe return of Indian nationals. Nearly 100 workers from Kurnool are desperately waiting to come back home safely, Jagan pointed out.

“The crisis in Libya has deepened further and slipped into a civil war which makes living conditions of Indians and other foreign nationals more dangerous, I request the Union Government to intervene and ensure the safe return of Indian nationals,” Jagan appealed. 

Requesting the External  Affairs  minister to treat this matter as top priority, YS Jagan said that the people who hail from Kurnool district and other parts of both the sibling states are very poor and left their families behind to earn some money. Their family members back home are very worried about their bread-winners.

 

 

 

Etela Rajender meets gulf victims

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Finance and Civil Supplies Etela Rajendar said that they would provide all kinds of support to Gulf victims in the state.

Speaking to reporters at Kamalapur in Karimnagar district on Tuesday, he said that they had visited Gulf countries and witnessed the sufferings of the victims there personally.

At Kamalapur, some Gulf victims met the minister for help.

“Kerala government is providing help for Gulf victims by sanctioning an amount of Rs.500 crores. We will also help the victims in the same way. The state cabinet has also decided to help the Gulf victims,” said Etela.

The minister said that their government would fulfill all election promises relating to Beedi workers, Gulf victims and farmers’ suicides.

“The aim of our government is to make the state corruption-free,” said the minister.

Etela said, “Some persons blamed us that we do not have enough experience in governance and Telangana people would have to beg if Telangana was formed. Now, I am constrained to say that it is the people of  Andhra Pradesh who will have to beg.”

The minister said that they do not have enough experience in cheating the people and they had experience only in sending the corrupt people to jail.

Demanding that the TDP government should immediately take steps towards arranging for finances to the farmers as the khariff season is on hand, YSR Congress has said the committee set up for State capital seems to be redundant and appears to be a ruling party outfit.

“We demand that the Government should take immediate steps to enable all farmers to get agriculture loans with the onset of monsoon and also clear dues of DWACRA groups and weavers” party Deputy Floor leader Jyothula Nehru told reporters here on Monday.

The Government has been looking for ways to escape the loan waiver on some pretext or the other and is trying hard to manipulate the Kotaiah Committee Report which was constituted to study the logistics of waiving loans.

“In the first place there is no need to set up a committee as waiver of all agricultural loans was the prime poll promise of TDP and it was the first file Chandrababu Naidu has signed. It is only to bid time and push the issue of waiving loans into cold storage.

We will not allow this and demand that the state government should immediately make arrangements for the farmers to get loans for agricultural operations,” he said.

On the building of state capital a committee was constituted by the government which sans public involvement. It appears to be a TDP committee. Instead all stakeholders should be partners in the building of the new state capital, including the main opposition party.

Setting up a committee ahead of the norms mentioned in State Reorganisation Bill makes this committee redundant, he said, adding that all sections of people should be involved in the building of the new state capital.
