Actress-turned-animal activist Amala Akkineni, wife of Telugu superstar Akkineni Nagarjuna, is fully involved in protecting animals.

She is also the founder of Hyderabad based Blue Cross, an organization which works for animal welfare. She has acted in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi films.
