The Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday directed the AP Government that it will supervise the SIT’s inquiry into encounter in Seshachalam forest recently.
Twenty woodcutters hired by red-sander smugglers were killed in an encounter with the Special Task Force in Seshachalam hill ranges near Tirupati.
The court passed interim orders seeking re-post mortem on bodies of the victims. The court also asked the SIT to submit its report within three months and directed the SIT members not to take orders from a minister or any authorities of the state government during the course of investigation.
