In Tollywood filmdom as everybody is keen on making biopics. While two highly anticipated projects on legendary actors Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR Sr) and Savitri have already created quite a sensation and have gone on the floors, the news of a biopic titled Yatra — on former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR) — has taken the excitement to all new levels.
As Malayalam Superstar Mammootty has officially given his gesture to repeat the part of previous united andhra pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy in his biopic, the pre-creation work has taken pace. Producers are wanting to rope in stars for other key characters in the biopic as well. The most recent we hear is that prevailing South actress, Keerthy Suresh has been drawn closer to assume the part of YSR’s daughter in-law and Jagan’s wife, YS Bharati .
YSR’s story is quite universal so it makes sense to make the film in Tamil as well. This film is not for people who love YSR because they’ll continue loving him even if I don’t make this project. If this story can really move some who has no knowledge of YSR, we’d succeed in our efforts.
On the off chance that Keerthy signs this film, it will be her next Telugu biggie after Pawan Kalyan’s “Agnyaathavaasi” and second biopic after “Mahanati”. The film does not follow the entire existence of YSR, but rather just his chronicled ‘Paada Yatra’, which voted him to power in 2004 general elections.
