legendary playback singer and Nightingale of South S Janaki Announced her retirement from film industry permanently  . S Janaki is eminent as one of the unbelievable playback artists of Indian silver screen.
Janaki, a native of Andhra Pradesh, began her career as a playback singer with Tamil movie Vidhiyin Vilayattu in 1957. In a career spanning over six decades, besides touching people’s lives with her songs, she has won several laurels too, including four National Awards.
That’s not all. She has recorded 48,000 songs in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Odiya, Hindi, Bengali, Tulu, Sanskrit, Sinhalese, Badaga, Punjabi, Urdu, Japanese, German, Latin and Arabic languages.
She has even inspired generations of musicians.S Janaki has now made a declaration of her retirement which tormented each music lovers .
S Janaki called as Nightingale of South, S Janaki gave her initially show in the city of Mysore 65 years back. She has now chosen to give her last show in Mysore itself on 28th of this current month and the venue ought to be Manasa Gangotri Stadium in Mysore.
She may have declared her retirement because of her age factor. She is 80 years of age now. S Janaki got many awards and honors from state and central governments. She was presented Padma Bhushan grant by the Indian government in 2013.
Notwithstanding, she dismissed the honor as she felt it was done past the point of no return by the government. S Janaki says, It will be my final song, Janaki says, I will not be recording anymore nor will I be singing at any functions.
