Even from the beginning, disputes clouded the movie Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. As the legal heirs of the freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy claim that the story is based on the heroic history of their ancestor. All they seek is now the royalty amount which was then promised. For now, it seems that Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy may be delayed for release.

Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili was dealing with the petition filed by Doravari Dastagiri Reddy and others who claimed themselves as family members and legal heirs of freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy seeking direction to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) not to issue censor certificate to the said film. The petitioners alleged that the film producer and actor Ram Charan and others had promised them to pay royalty amount for using their family history and other articles for the film, but failed to fulfil. Meanwhile, the filmmakers have claimed that the film was not a biopic.

The judge posted the matter to Monday for further hearing. Only on Monday it will be decided that the movie will be released as per schedule or delayed further.Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is scheduled for worldwide release on October 2 in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam and Tamil.
