Polaris Indian Scout bike launched

Polaris India, a fully-owned subsidiary of Polaris Industries, has unveiled its Scout bike. The all-terrain vehicle is priced between Rs 12 lakhs and Rs 42 lakhs, depending upon the variant.  The firm has been importing the bike in the form of Completely Built Units, with plans for an ‘Indian Motorcycle’ as part of its localizing strategy.

“We may work out strategies on the location aspect and the assembling unit. This is our part of long-term strategies and for this purpose we are looking at a time horizon of about three to four years,” Polaris India managing director Pankaj Dubey affirmed, during the opening of its dealership center in Chandigarh.

Released first in Mumbai, the bike is reportedly having a  999cc V-Twin engine, 5-speed transmission, 78-horsepower engine, and has features such as 88.8 NM torque.
