By poll counting of 4 Lok Sabha constituencies and 11 assembly seats (including 10 by-polls) over the 11 states has started today morning. Since the results are significant for BJP to keep up its greater part in the Lok Sabha, everyone’s eyes are on the By poll Results . In the meantime, this is a test for the assembled Opposition which is going up against Modi. The Lok Sabha seats which went to by-races are : Palghar and Bhandara-Gondiya in Maharashtra; the politically-pivotal Kairana Lok Sabha electorate in Uttar Pradesh, and Nagaland parliamentary constituency .
The Assembly situates where by-elections were held are Shahkot (Punjab), Tharali (Uttarakhand), Ampati (Meghalaya), Chengannur (Kerala), Jokihat (Bihar), Gomia (Jharkhand), Silli (Jharkhand), Maheshtala (West Bengal), Noorpur (Uttar Pradesh), Palus Kadegaon (Maharashtra). In Bhandara-Gondiya the bypoll was encouraged after BJP’s sitting MP Nana Patole quit the gathering to join the Congress in December a year ago. In Maharashtra, Palghar situate fell empty in the wake of sitting BJP MP Chintaman Wanga passed on in January. Races were required in Kairana after the seat fell empty in February following the passing of BJP pioneer Hukum Singh. The BJP has handled Mriganka Singh, daughter of Singh, from this seat.
