Political thinker and writer Kancha Ilaiah Kancha Ilaiah was irritated by right-wing activists outside a court in Jagital district’s Korutla town when Telangana police came to his rescue.
As indicated by the reports, an expansive number of young people holding placards endeavored to attack Kancha Ilaiah with shoes while others heaved eggs as he was getting into his car .
Addressing the media on Wednesday, he said that the attack was by individuals having a place with the Arya Vysya people group and the Bharatiya Janata Party, who supposedly instructed him to chant Vande Mataram on the off chance that he tried to remain in India.
A 20-page book of political thinker and writer Kancha Ilaiah that dubbed ‘Vysyas’, traditionally a trading community, as social smugglers, has inflamed the community members so much and few days back one of the prominent leaders in vysyas community and Rajya Sabha member of the Telugu Desam Party T.G. Venkatesh issued a ‘fatwa’ seeking Mr. Ilaiah’s hanging publicly.
And Telugu Desam Party MP Venkatesh told to the media that he did not mean ‘fatwa’ as he was carried away emotionally. However, he warned that things will go out of control if the book was not banned.
The writter sought debate with his book “Samajika Smugglurlu Komatollu” (Vysyas are social smugglers ) which prompted challenges over the two Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana .
In the original in English, Ilaiah titled the chapter Social Smugglers devoted to Vysyas. Likewise, he had coined catchy titles for other chapters, focusing on a caste or community cohort, without naming them.
By introducing the caste appellation in the Telugu title and rolling out select chapters as exclusive booklets, he has earned the ire of the Arya Vysya community in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
They are offended by the title and content which they find derogatory and demeaning.  While the Arya Vysya comitties requesting Kancha Ilaiah to tell an apology for using unparliamentary words on Vysyas .
