India’s first lesbian ad ‘The Visit’ produced by e-commerce firm Myntra has gone viral. Till date the ad has crossed over a million views on Youtube.
The ad shows a lesbian couple getting ready to announce their relationship to their parents.
The unconventional ad has perhaps gone viral as it does not try to make homosexuality look any different. It shows two adults in a live-in relationship and being tense about the visiting parents.
Avishek Ghosh, co-partner of Hectic Content, who helmed the ad said they tried to avoid the stereotypes associated with gay people.
“There is no woman looking more masculine or feminine in the film. We tried to make them feel like any other couple being apprehensive about meeting the parents,” he told a newspaper.
