After 102 years, the Komagata Maru sailed into Vancouver, the PM Justin Trudau will apologise the House of Commons for the decession to turn away the ship carrying hundreds of South Asian immigrants most of them were Sikhs.
The ship arrived on Canada’s West coast on May 23rd 1914 anchoring in Vancouver’s coal harbour. 376 passengers denied entry into the ship at the harbour for two months. Passengers sought refugee and better lives for their families . They choose Canada but the government did not comply with their request.
