She is not an ordinary person to sell mangoes on the roadside. She is the daughter of former deputy speaker and the current Lok Sabha MP from Khunti, Kariya Munda. Chandrawati Saru who is a teacher by profession, can be seen selling mangoes on the streets of Khunti.
Speaking to media channels, Saru said she is neither ashamed or feeling bad for selling mangoes on the street.
Showing is an example of simplicity and minimalism to many politicians, Saru feels that she is sending a message to youngsters who are reluctant and feel ashamed in taking up agriculture as a profession.
“I will donate the money I get from selling mangoes to people who need it more that me. My father always tells me not to get detached from my roots. Keeping myself grounded is what I have inherited from my father,” she said.
