NDA government has landed in a new controversy again. One year back there was a controversy over “Suryanamaskarams,” now the proposal to chant “Om” along with a Sanskrith sloka on the day of International yoga to be held on 21st June 2016, has lead to controversy. The opposition parties say that the government tries to push its communal agenda through yoga.
The ministry of Ayush under health minitry has proposed “Om”chanting along with Vedic mantras for 45 minutes Yoga session as a part of the International Yoga day. The ministry has stated that Yoga practice shall start with a prayer to enhance benefits of the practice.
