Women literacy rate should be increase in the country: President Pranab Mukharjee

President Pranab Mukherjee gave a call that to improve the literacy rate among the women in the country and he expressed concern over the issue. He said that it is unfortunate that women’s literacy is less than 65 percent, whereas overall literacy in India was 74 percent.

President Mukherjee graced the inauguration of the Bansilal Malani College of Nursing as Chief Guest here in Hyderabad.  He further said that real empowerment of women would be possible only through education. He also expressed concern over the deficiencies in the health infrastructure of the country.  He further suggested the only long-lasting solution is to create cooperative structures comprising the government and the private stakeholders as well as the civil society.
