AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday communicated joy over National Green Tribunal’s (NGT) freedom for the up and coming state capital, Amaravati. National Green Tribunal’s prior in the day gave the endorsement for the development of Amaravati, as a fantasy capital on the banks of Krishna river .
The National Green Tribunal’s heard petitions documented by the preservationists in 2015 against development of the capital on the banks of Krishna river and in lavish green fields.
In the wake of hearing the contentions for more than 22 months and looking at 10,000 pages of reports for and against, the National Green Tribunal’s gave the gesture to the capital at last.
They additionally tested the clearances given by the environment minister with 192 conditions. The NGT had directed Andhra Pradesh government not to carry out any operation to clear the land falling in the project area without obtaining environmental clearance to the project.
However, the green panel said last year that there was no stay on construction activity for the proposed capital on the banks of the Krishna but made it clear that continuation of the project would be subject to final decision of the Tribunal and the orders already passed by it.
The petitioners have made Ministries of Environment and Forests, Urban Development and Water Resources, AP government and Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) parties in the case.
Not long after the hearing, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said with this, the roadlock to capital development has been expelled. We will construct Amaravati to be a world class Greenfield capital.
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) today refused to interfere with the environment clearance granted to Amaravati, the proposed capital of Andhra Pradesh.  The green panel formed two committees –a supervisory committee and an implementation committee — to monitor work on the project site of Amaravati.
In the interim, the state farmers excessively communicated satisfaction and exchanged desserts after the National Green Tribunal’s choice.
