After the Success of Nandyal By elections TDP has owned with another huge success of Kakinada Municipal elections that was held couple of days back . Andhra pradesh rulling Telugu Desam Party won the Kakinada Municipal Polls after a long hole of 30 Years.
Out of aggregate 48 Divisions, The Andhra Pradesh Ruling Party won 32 Seats to assert the Mayor Post. YSR Congress figured out how to win in 10 Divisions. BJP which challenged in 9 Divisions with the help of its collusion partner Telugu Desam Party packed away 3 Seats. Around 3 Divisions have gone to the Independents.
Kakinada Municipal Polls 2017 Results:
TDP: 32 Seats;
YSR Congress: 10 Seats;
BJP: 3 Seats;
Others: 3 Seats .
Even before the counting was complete, TDP bagged the mayor seat leaving the YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s YSRCP in a lurch with just 8 wards. Kakinada City is being commanded by the Kapu Community. Jana Sena Party’s remain of not to challenge in any of the elections till 2019 came as a surprisingly beneficial development for the Ruling Party.
Had if Pawan Kalyan filled his competitors, The challenge would have been all the more interesting. This is a major setback for the opposition party YSRCP after the defeat in Nandyal bypolls.
