After a progression of pivotal occasions, Telangana Telugu Desam Party Working president and Kodangal MLA and key blamed in unpopular money for vote case , Revanth Reddy hosts offered his resignation to his party’s essential membership and sent the resignation to Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrbabu Naidu .
Revanth Reddy, who plans to join the main opposition Congress party, submitted his resignation to the Telugu Desam Party’s national president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati, and also resigned as the MLA of Kodangal.
The young leader called on Naidu in Hyderabad and submitted his resignation from the primary membership of the party. He stated in his letter that he had the utmost respect for Naidu’s leadership.
Naidu had met the Telugu Desam Party leaders in Hyderabad on Friday but the meeting was inconclusive. Several Telugu Desam Party leaders including state president L. Ramna and M. Narasimhulu were demanding that Revanth be expelled from the party for his open moves to cross over to Congress.
It is assumed that the reason for him to switch sides is reportedly because the Telugu Desam Party supremo N Chandrababu was exploring the possibility of a tie-up with TRS for the 2019 general elections.
Telugu Desam Party has considerably weakened in the state following defection of 12 of its legislators to TRS during last three years. With Revanth’s resignation, Telugu Desam Party’s tally in 119-member assembly will reduce to two.
