If the developments go properly in the ruling TDP, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh is going to join in cabinet very soon. Sources of TDP indicate that the TDP leadership is drawing up plans for a cabinet expansion after the conclusion of the Assembly session which begins on September 8.
There is indeed demand from the party that Lokesh, Party National General Secretary and head of the TDP Workers’ Welfare Fund. Recently, his father and party chief, Mr. Naidu said that a decision on Lokesh role in government will be taken soon. Earlier, the party was planning to send Lokesh to Rajya Sabha, but Naidu gave Rajya Sabha seat to its alliance party BJP. After several rounds of discussions with TDP senior leaders, Babu has decided for a state portfolio for Lokesh rather than a central post, sources said.
