The founders of Megha Engineering and Infrastructures (MEIL) have once again partaken in a great philanthropic act. There is an old Telugu saying which advocates that a person should always be grateful to two things in life – his mother and his village. Mr. P. P. Reddy and Mr. P. V. Krishna Reddy, the founders of MEIL, have lived up to the essence of this saying by providing clean drinking water to all citizens in their native village Dokiparru, located in Gudlavalleru mandal of Krishna district. They have contributed four crore rupees for the construction of drinking water tank with a capacity of two lakh liters. Alongside, they have also arranged for the setup of drinking water connections to 1500 households in the village, which will be commenced on the 14th of this month. Currently, the village is getting drinking water through public taps and household connections approved by the gram panchayat. The panchayat body usually arranges these household tap connections for a certain cost.

MEIL had already adopted Dokiparru village and undertook several developmental activities in the past. As a part of this initiative, MEIL spent four crore rupees towards laying of a village-wide drinking water pipeline network and construction of an overhead tank. The two lakh liter capacity tank will be sufficient to cater to the drinking water needs of the entire village. They also repaired the existing overhead tank constructed by the gram panchayat. In memory of Late Sri P. Krishna Reddy and Late Sri P. Bhadramma, the parents of Mr. P. P. Reddy, MEIL will provide drinking water to each household from now onwards through tap connections and a water treatment plant. On the 14th of this month, Mr. P. P. Reddy and Mr. P. V. Krishna Reddy will inaugurate these facilities, which consist of an overhead tank, drinking water pipelines, and taps.

Mr. P. P. Reddy and Mr. P. V. Krishna Reddy, who are the chairman and managing director of MEIL respectively, have already constructed Lord Venkateswara temple in Dokiparru. Associated to the temple, they also constructed a marriage hall which is now used by the local residents to perform marriages free of charge. The CSR initiatives of MEIL also include the construction of a bridge costing fifty lakh rupees to mitigate the difficulties faced by residents of S. T. colony, and the setup of LED lights in all streets of the village. As a part of MEIL’s Swacch Bharat initiative, the company has provided 700 readymade toilets in the entire village.

In memory of K. Basivi Reddy, MEIL spent fifteen lakhs rupees for the construction of an RO plant in Bhadrirajupalem of Thotlavallur mandal. The plant, which is managed by MEIL, provides drinking water to the entire village. MEIL has also donated readymade toilets to all households in Khaza village in Movva mandal. The management is planning to sponsor the provision of clean drinking water in this village also.
