Pushkar workers fighting for wages

Thousands of sanitary workers who done tremendous job by maintain the Pushkar Nagars very clean during the 12-day Krishna Pushkarams come into streets once again.

This time they did not come for duty but their wages. Even after 42 hours of end the Krishna Pushkaram-2016, the state government didn’t pay their daily wages. Nearly, 19,600 sanitation workers were deployed from August 9 till the end of the event.

The workers worked for eight hours a day in three shifts and some even did a double shift in a hope to earn extra, but no one has received promised daily wage of Rs 400. The cash strapped state government had reportedly spent Rs.1800 crore for Pushkarams.
