Stolen Laptops And iPads Recovered From 2 Naval Men

The MVP Colony police recovered 58 high-end laptops and an Apple iPad from two Naval personnel

in connection with a total of 50 cases of laptop thefts in the city Sunday.

The police arrested one Mohammad Shakeel Ahmed (35), who has stolen about 100 laptops. Efforts are being made to arrest the two Naval personnel who purchased the laptops.

Mohammad Shakeel Ahmed (35), has stolen 100 laptops worth over Rs 25 lakh from students staying in hostels at MVP Colony and other areas, over the last two years before his arrest on June 11.

The police served notices to Sudheer Kumar Beniwal of 104 Area in Marripalem and Deewan Singh who earlier worked at ENC and was transferred to Mumbai recently. They were asked to produce the laptops which they purchased from Ahmed. The duo handed over 58 laptops and an iPad. “We would arrest both the Naval personnel soon after obtaining necessary permissions from the Naval authorities as per the procedure,” the DCP said.
