A mini storm is looming in the TDP ever since party Chief Chandrababu Naidu rolled out a red carpet to Pamarru MLA and YSRCP leader Uppuleti Kalpana. Varla Ramaiah, TDP spokesperson is upset. He has fought the last assembly elections on TDP ticket from Pamarru and Uppuleti Kalpana was the one who defeated him.
With both Varla and Uppuleti on the same side, who will Babu choose as the next MLA candidate from the party is the big question? If Chandrababu chooses Kalpana, Ramaiah, who has been working for the party in the constituency, will be deprived. After having spent both money and energy, Ramaiah is not ready to shift to any other constituency. He showed his displeasure by leaving the TDP leaders’ workshop on Tuesday.“I have been fighting Uppuleti Kalpana for over three years. How can the party take her? What is my position now?” reportedly he expressed the same anger with supporters. On the other hand , the YSRCP is wooing him to join the party. Ramaiah, well-placed sources say, is willing to leave TDP. So, if Kalpana joins TDP, Varla is likely to join YSRCP. This could be a big blow to TDP as Varla has considerable following among the Dalits.
