Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu conducted an aerial survey in the flood-hit parts of Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh. He inspected several parts of the Guntur and Prakasam districts and observed the damage caused to crops and railways tracks. Later, he spoke to the officials in Guntur and came to know the details of losses in the recent heavy rains and floods.
Heavy rains and deluge in Guntur last week had disrupted rail and road transport with National Disaster Response Force being pressed into service for rescue and relief operation. As many as five persons were killed at separate places in the district due to flood and downpour on September 22. He remained that he is working hard for the development of the Telugu states and sanctioning the central projects as many as possible, while he spoke the media personals.
