Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy to lay stone for medical college in Eluru

The government had already issued a GO sanctioning Rs 266 crore for building the medical college in Eluru. The Medical Council of India (MCI) had already given permission for setting up of the college with 100 seats. The district administration had identified 25 acres of land on the medical hospital premises for the construction of the medical college. Health Minister Alla Nani has asked the officials to make more land available for the expansion of college in future. The college is coming up on the premises of the 518-bed government hospital and then acquire land on the outskirts of the city to build hostels for 380 students and accommodation for teaching and non-teaching staff.

Government Hospital is facilitated with all facilities with 518 beds. As per Medical Council of India (MCI) terms, there seems to be no disturbance, it’s a green signal. Government Hospital Infrastructure,Services, Beds, Basic amenities, Modern medical instruments, Place and Medical Team is all according to the terms of MCI, Officials confirmed. General Medicine, Intensive Care Unit, General surgery, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, paediatric, orthopedic, Trauma care, Tuberculosis and Crohn’s Disease, Skin and Acidity are the services offered for the people. Under the Rajashekhar Reddy Government, District Government hospital is upgraded to Super speciality Hospital. After launching the Vahana Mitra scheme, Chief Minister Jagan would lay the foundation stone for the medical college building.
