Comedian and character artiste Rajendra Prasad defeated actor-turned-politician Jayasudha in the election to the post of president of Movie Artistes Association which was held on March 29.
Rajendra Prasad won with 53 votes against his rival actress Jayasudha. The counting was carried out in 7 rounds.
Jayasudha is the first woman to contest for MAA presidency.While Rajendra Prasad was supported by K. Nagendra Babu, Jayasudha is backed by TDP MP M. Muralimohan.
Murali Mohan elected unopposed for three consecutive terms.
