State government issued Schools, Colleges to remain closed for one more week

As employees of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) intensify protests over a list of 26 demands, including a merger with the government, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has ruled out the issue. Chief Minister KCR has ordered Director General of Police Mahender Reddy to arrest anybody who tries to disrupt bus services. Additional personnel and resources, including CCTV cameras, are to be deployed at bus depots.

Telangana government on Saturday extended the Dussehra Holidays till October 19 for the educational institutions as strike by Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) employees is still going on. All the government and private schools, Junior colleges have been told to remain closed till October 19.

The state government has also extended the holidays not only for government and private schools but also for the private, government aided junior, degree, polytechnic including MBA, MCA, Pharmacy, Engineering, Law, and University colleges except Medical colleges that have already been running.The government said this was done to avoid inconvenience to students.
